I offer both brief and long-term therapy to individuals. I have worked as an art psychotherapist for over 20 years and as a Jungian analyst and psychotherapist for 14 years, within public and private settings. I now have a private practice based in Ely and Bury St Edmunds. I supervise art therapists within the NHS, counsellors and psychotherapists.
I initially trained as an art therapist at Goldsmith's College, University of London. For over 20 years I worked as an art psychotherapist, within NHS mental health teams. I completed my Jungian analytic training at the SAP London in 2004, when I set up a private practice.
Therapy provides an opportunity for you to talk to someone in confidence and without judgement, about what may be on your mind, which may include personal problems and difficulties. The process can bring about a clearer understanding of what led you to develop a particular problem in the first place. Unconscious processes shape our behaviour and our lives. Patterns of behaviour have a tendency to be repeated. A painful situation in the present may have roots in the past.
Often these patterns of behaviour can be damaging to ourselves and others; at the same time we can feel powerless to change them. One or several difficulties can make a person feel stuck in their lives and in their personal development, and yet not be able to pinpoint causes or find solutions to their problems without help.
Some difficult personal issues or emotional upsets may include:
depression and anxiety
loss and bereavement
relationship Issues (with partners, family or work)
feelings of confusion and difficulties with concentration.
How I work
I work with individuals for short or long term therapy, from a consultation room in Bury St Edmunds (St. John's Street) on Thursdays, and from my consultation room in Ely for the other days of the week. I provide a confidential setting and work in a relational way.

The first meeting is an assessment session, which gives you the opportunity to share what is on your mind, to hear your story and what is troubling you. You may have questions about therapy, and whether you feel comfortable enough to continue working with me in therapy for once-weekly sessions.
