About me

My psychotherapy practice is based in Bury St Edmunds where I work as a Clinical Psychotherapist (UKCP), an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist (HCPC) and more recently, during COVID, I have started working outdoors as an Eco Psychotherapist, as well as online and telephone .

How I may work with an individual will be client led.

Psychotherapy is able to provide a space that has the capacity to change lives and create lasting change.

It can be beneficial in a wide range of cases, including anxiety, depression, relationships, self-esteem, panic attacks, dissatisfaction, self-harm, eating disorders, coping with change and loss, mid-life challenges, addiction, trauma, grief, or other types of physical, mental or emotional challenges.

Providing a confidential, safe space to build a trusting and secure therapeutic relationship, we explore aspects of life using a range of creative processes.  Offering an empathic holding presence, I support you to work with your inner world.

I work with individuals and groups exploring various challenging and painful aspects of life.

I support adults and young people to live a more satisfying life, working towards a deeper awareness and understanding of painful and difficult feelings, especially when these impact negatively on lives and relationships in the present.

Depending on your reason for engaging, Arts Psychotherapy can be short or long term.

I have worked in a variety of settings with children and adults, as an Honorary Arts Psychotherapist in an NHS psychiatric hospital, with individuals and groups in a number of charities including Lifecraft Cambridge and MIND, also at a Child Health Centre, hospice and in schools.

I have a lifetime of involvement in the arts in various capacities, with over 22 years' experience working in education with young people with emotional and learning difficulties teaching Art, DT and Drama. I trained as a psychotherapist at The Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE) in London, and am a co-founder of a number of groups including a contemporary dance group and community arts group.

I am a Director of the Golden Yew Project CIC which offers psychological support and All Ways Making CIC which aims to improve lives through arts and culture.
